A bit about me
My name is Morten and I am 38 years old. I live with my girlfriend and two daughters.
I am a 3rd year student as a psychotherapist at ID Academy. Besides that, I work as a disability helper and have been doing so for almost 10 years.
I have primarily worked with talk therapy but over time have also opened my eyes to other methods which for me have been very effective.
Here are a few of the ones I have used the most.
Nature therapy
The nature I have experienced can have an extremely healing effect. If we remove ourselves from the everyday noise and listen to the silence of nature, we get the opportunity to experience the things inside ourselves that do not normally hear. A walk in the woods or on the beach or maybe just standing in the dark and looking into a campfire can help create the calmness needed to get in touch with some things one needs to know in order to move on.
Body therapy
The body is also a very effective tool to use, as it contains all the information we have created throughout life, but which we are not immediately in contact with. Through physical exercises we will be able to release that information and pull it forward to our consciousness and start working with it.
Breathing exercises
Breathing is one of the simplest and most easily accessible tools we have available, yet some of it most of us are not in touch with on a daily basis. By becoming aware of the breath, one can re-establish the connection to the body. It is also a very effective tool for e.g. deal with panic disorder.
There are many paths to Rome and at least as many ways to use psychotherapy to evolve personally. It's just a matter of figuring out which method works best to solve one's challenges.
I can not solve your challenges but I can help you become aware of them.
Almost 15 years ago, I got a severe depression activated, among other things, by having an alcoholic mother who died from her addiction. I in connection to that started in therapy and gradually opened my eyes to the potential of psychotherapy. My development through psychotherapy has opened up a lot of forgotten things in me and also got me in touch with spiritual aspects of myself that I was not aware of before. Through my own various life challenges such as stress, abuse, depression, relationships and parenthood, I have used psychotherapeutic tools for development. Tools that have helped change my life and that I would like to share, with other people who might need it. Therefore, I started studying psychotherapy.
Through my own experiences, I think I will be able to help create a space, of authenticity, empathy and depth, where you can be with everything you bring.
